To use the DNAGedcom Client, you must be a subscriber first.Go to DNAGedcom.com and log in. To check your status, go to the Members tab/ Subscriber Information.
Once on this page, if you are a subscriber, you will be given an option to Install the DNAGedcom Client. Follow the link. After you click the link, . Save the setup.exe file. You may get a warning, please accept/keep the download. Then open and run setup.exe to install the DNAGedcom Client.
Once it is installed and opened, the first page will ask for your DNAGedcom user name and password to verify your subscription. Once you are logged in, click on the “Options” tab to select the export folder to save the downloaded matches and ancestors, click “save”. Back on the main page select the “Ancestry” tab and log in with your Ancestry.com credentials. Select from the “Profile” drop down box which DNA kit you wish to download.
First click “Gather matches”, when that is complete, select “Gather trees” . The files will go to the export folder you selected. They will be named something like “m_B7E…….3B.csv” for the matches file and “a_B7E…….3B.csv” for the ancestors of matches file.
