Gather Tools
Overview (all platforms)
Data you gather with the Client is downloaded from vendor sites to a database on your computer and becomes available as CSV spreadsheet files. CSV files can be viewed directly in Excel and Google Sheets. CSV is the universal file format for uploading data in other genetic genealogy programs and custom databases.
There are 4 basic stages for gathering data for every vendor sites: 1. login to the DNA Platform where your kit(s)resides, 2. select a profile from the Gather screen , 3. set gather options to choose which data for which matches to gather in the current session. And 4 launch the gathering session.
Available Data
The types of data available to the Client vary by vendor, so not every option is available on every Gather interface. This table compares available data by category and platform.
